In 2012, a family at Life Pointe Church in Homestead, FL was adopting a child from Ethiopia. $25,000 was needed for the adoption. The church they attended decided to sell Christmas trees to raise the money. 450 Christmas trees were sold. $25,000 was raised.
Due to the success of BUY A TREE CHANGE A LIFE that first year, a non-profit organization called ForHope.us was founded and has joined together with other churches all over the country to raise money that will help children globally and locally. Almost $500,000 has been raised since the first year and exponential growth is projected for Christmas 2017.
With your sponsorship we will provide education, care, mentoring, food, and housing. We support children’s homes, learning centers, schools and feeding programs. We want to inspire hope and empower potential in the next generation!
We help children in some of the most challenging places on the planet. The cooperative effort of our participating churches makes a substantial impact. By ourselves we can do good things. But, together we can do great things.
Each site determines how they can best serve the children of their community. Examples of local projects have included: backpack giveaways, college scholarships, and mentoring programs. Even when the project is over your sponsorship continues to help children locally.
In 2016, BUY A TREE CHANGE A LIFE raised $454,480! This would not have been possible without the help of our generous sponsors! Last year’s event produced local media attention in the papers, radio, and television across the country. You have a chance to join this movement. The Sponsor Form will have information about how to sign up.
